As we mark the twenty-second anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, we pause to honor the memory of the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day and the countless others who have been affected in the years since. This day serves as a powerful reminder of both the profound loss and the resilience of our shared humanity. In remembering those who perished and the heroes who emerged from the chaos, we must also reflect on the values that bind us together as a community. Community means more than just coming together in times of tragedy; it is about supporting and uplifting one another every day, transcending divisions, and standing united against hate and discrimination. As we commemorate this solemn anniversary, let us reaffirm our commitment to rising above the prejudices that have emerged in the wake of 9/11. Anti-Muslim racism and intolerance have no place in our society. True remembrance involves not only honoring the victims but also ensuring that we do not perpetuate the divisions and hatred that this tragedy should have taught us to overcome. On this day of reflection, let us come together as a community, embrace the power of our collective voice, and strive to create a future where the legacy of 9/11 is one of hope, solidarity, and unyielding respect for all.

?? Check out FCCP Senior Census Consultant, Terri Ann Lowenthal’s, latest article, Research & Testing for Census 2030: Major Test in 2026 Takes Shape: https://lnkd.in/edvuj66H “A mere five years from now, final preparations for the 2030 Census will be in full swing. (See what I did there, census procrastinators?) Local census offices will be open (some may be virtual) and recruiting tens of thousands of field workers. Partnership specialists will be distributing promotional materials for local “trusted voices” to use in their Get Out the Count (GOTC) campaigns. The Census Bureau will be making final tweaks to its massive database of every residential address in the country after state, local, and tribal governments completed their (voluntary) reviews of the file for their respective jurisdictions; the next step is printing those addresses on census packets that most U.S. households will receive by mail starting in March 2030. The outreach and promotion campaign will have started in historically undercounted and hard-to-count communities (*footnote included in the article). How will the 2030 Census unfold? How many temporary workers will the Bureau hire; how many local offices will be scattered across the country? I wish I could answer these burning (and important questions), but I can’t — yet. Needless to say, the Bureau must first research, test, and refine the census design, methodologies, and operations. That work started several years ago and is being informed by small, focused tests, as well as two major field tests — one in 2026, and the all-important Dress Rehearsal in 2028.”

?? Join FCCP for our upcoming virtual Funders Briefing on Combating Voter Disinformation on August 8th, 2024 from 2-3:15 PM ET! Since 2020, there has been an increase in coordinated efforts to spread false claims about the integrity of our elections. Some of these false narratives have taken root in alarming ways, breeding distrust in our democracy and emboldening bad actors to threaten and harass election workers and voters alike. Drawing on direct experience combating disinformation related to elections and voting, advocates will present an overview of some of the biggest disinformation threats facing voters this election season and identify opportunities for funders to provide meaningful support. Speakers will include: ? Jenny Liu, Policy Manager Technology and Telecommunications, AAJC ? Laura MacCleery, Senior Director of Policy, UnidosUS ? David Toomey, Senior Voting Rights & Technology Advisor, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights ? Annabelle Gardner, Vice President, Spitfire Strategies ??????
