This is an exciting time for the Fulton Industrial District! We were thrilled to be a part of the demolition event last week and can't wait for the changes coming thanks to Fulton County's Renew the District initiative.
?? Fulton County celebrates transformational demolition in Fulton Industrial Boulevard District #RenewTheDistrict ??? Fulton County Government took a bold step toward revitalizing the Fulton Industrial Boulevard District with a landmark demolition event, attended by elected officials, dignitaries, stakeholders, and community leaders. The demolition of the dilapidated Executive and Super Inn hotels marks a critical phase in the #FultonCounty’s Renew the District initiative, aimed at transforming one of the state’s largest job centers into a more dynamic hub of economic opportunity and community safety. ?? Held at 305 Fulton Industrial Circle in #Atlanta, the demolition event showcased Fulton County’s unwavering commitment to supporting sustainable development and improving the quality of life in the Fulton Industrial Boulevard corridor. Among the key attendees were Robb Pitts, Chairman and Khadijah Abdur-Rahman, Vice Chairwoman, Fulton County Board of Commissioners; Catherine Rowell, Ph.D, District 1 Council Member, City of South Fulton; Gil Prado, Executive Director, Fulton Industrial Community Improvement District (CID); Dick Anderson, County Manager, Fulton County; and, Samir Abdullahi, Director of Select Fulton, who emphasized the significance of this demolition in paving the way for future growth. ?? The Renew the District initiative is part of Fulton County’s comprehensive plan to attract commercial development, combat crime, and position Fulton Industrial Boulevard as a key engine of economic growth. Great news yesterday from GDOT! The State Transportation Board approved an overhaul of the heavily congested I-285/I-20 West interchange, ranked the fifth-worst truck bottleneck in the nation by the American Transportation Research Institute. Legacy Infrastructure Contractors won the bid on the project that will begin in late 2025. The work will involve removing the left-hand entrance and exit ramps and building a westbound collector-distributor system from the interchange to Fulton Industrial Boulevard. Several flyover ramps will be added, and several bridges will be replaced. To learn more about the project visit: https://lnkd.in/gryysNa https://lnkd.in/e4U8JxdX
