关于我们

I am Jacob Henry- FULLY DEDICATED Serious disparities exist across our society, this calls for a together approach to make a difference. I have experienced racial discrimination within education, healthcare, and the criminal justice system, but my experiences in life have given me the opportunity to educate individuals about the impact of racial discrimination, leading to a greater awareness and understanding. I use my dedication and personal lived experiences of racial discrimination to support and educate others. I work alongside leaders using my expertise in coaching and neuro linguistic programming to create a more equal Wales. ? Educating and supporting professionals to better understand cultural and unconscious bias ? Creating safe spaces without judgement in order to explore the complexities of cultural inequalities ? Encourage professionals and organisations to fully understand the effects of racial disparities Only together can we create real CHANGE. Email: [email protected]

  • I had a great morning at the Guildhall delivering an education session on behalf of Swansea Youth Justice Service looking at challenging racism in the youth justice system. In a system where young people from racialised backgrounds continue to face disproportionate criminalisation, it’s essential that those working on the frontline understand how bias, institutional structures, and lived experiences intersect to create inequities. This session wasn’t about ticking boxes—it was about real conversations and real reflection in order to see real change. We explored: ?? The impact of systemic and institutional racism within youth and criminal justice ?? My personal experiences with criminal justice ?? Practical strategies to challenge bias and build anti-racist practice in youth justice interventions ??Developing skills for communication and interactions regarding different cultures, ethnicity and religion. Change starts with awareness, but it must be followed by action. Swansea YJS is taking important steps to ensure that every young person, regardless of their background, is treated with dignity, respect, and fairness. It’s also always great to know that your service would be recommended by others, and it will be great to catch up with the team to see how they get on with their personal commitments. Grateful to be a part of this journey. Let’s keep pushing forward. ??? #YouthJustice #AntiRacism #Equity #YoungPeople #SwanseaYJS #Inclusion #SocialJustice City & County of Swansea

  • “I’m deeply humbled and inspired by the feedback I received regarding my training and sharing my personal story. It means so much to know that my words and experiences have resonated and sparked hope in others. Empowering individuals, especially as Black men, to break stereotypes and embrace their potential is a mission I hold close to my heart. Messages like this remind me why I do what I do and encourage me to continue striving to uplift and inspire. Thank you, Romario, for your kind words and for sharing how this has impacted you. Together, we can create a ripple effect of empowerment and growth!”

  • ?? Kicking off the New Year with Impact! ?? What an incredible start to 2025! Yesterday, I had the privilege of delivering anti-racism training to 120 dedicated staff members from Riverside School, in Wood Green, Haringey including the headteacher, deputy head, team leads, teachers, and teaching assistants. The session was powerful, thought-provoking, and filled with meaningful dialogue. Together, we explored: ? Recognising and addressing unconscious bias ? Understanding the systemic roots of racism ? Practical strategies for creating inclusive classrooms ? Empowering staff to challenge discrimination effectively It was inspiring to see such a committed team engaging wholeheartedly in these crucial conversations. The passion and openness from everyone in the room were a testament to Riverside School’s dedication to creating a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment for every child. I’m excited to see how this work continues to evolve within the school and how the strategies discussed will positively impact students, staff, and the wider community. And what a lovely gift to receive, artwork from a year 10 pupil. This will definitely be framed and put on the wall of fame at the office. Here’s to a year of growth, allyship, and meaningful progress! ?? #AntiRacism #EducationMatters #InclusiveEducation #DiversityAndInclusion #RiversideSchool #MakingADifference

And that’s a wrap! 5 consecutive Tuesday mornings worth of excellent anti-racism bitesize training delivered to the team in NYAS Cymru and some of our fellow colleagues from England. I just want to take a moment to thank Jacob Henry and Mark Jones for their dedication to this cause. They have been a breath of fresh air, in guiding us through a journey of learning, which may have felt uncomfortable at times to some - but kudos to the team at NYAS Cymru for allowing themselves to enter a safe space of learning and being curious. It’s been a hugely impactful and thought provoking few weeks. Each bitesize session has been jam packed with authenticity, knowledgable research, and most importantly - the true voice of lived experience when working to improve how we can become an anti racist nation. I’d encourage you all to connect with Jacob Henry and Mark Jones and consider how you can invite such bitesize learning sessions into your workspaces, and together become better allies in this space and show solidarity for members of your team who have lived experience of dealing with racism. I’ve also learnt a great deal, and look forward to seeing how this journey of learning, and it’s application unfolds in NYAS! ???? Thank you guys and keep up the excellent work!

This morning, staff at NYAS Cymru finished a series of insightful training sessions on anti-racism, delivered by Mark Jones and Jacob Henry. It provided the team with a safe space to have an open and honest dialogue, allowing for challenging conversations to be held and an opportunity for reflection, growth and planning within NYAS Cymru. This is just the start of this conversation, and we look forward to our continued growth and development to ensure inclusivity, understanding and support within NYAS and beyond.????

  • Today Jacob Henry and Mark Jones delivered a session on white privilege which was incredibly impactful, and we want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone from NYAS (National Youth Advocacy Service) who participated. Your openness, engagement, and willingness to explore difficult conversations truly made this session memorable and transformative. Key takeaways included: The understanding that white privilege doesn’t imply a lack of challenges in life, but rather an absence of certain obstacles due to skin color. Many shared personal insights, and together, we explored how privilege can manifest in everyday scenarios, often going unnoticed by those who benefit from it. This awareness is crucial, as it opens doors to empathy, understanding, and allyship. We also discussed the importance of using this awareness to foster inclusive environments, actively support marginalised voices, and challenge systemic inequities. The level of reflection and engagement was inspiring, and it’s clear we’re taking strides towards creating a more inclusive and equitable future together. Thank you all for your contributions and dedication to this essential work! Daljit Kaur Morris Mark Jones #ListenLearnAct #Allyship #PrivilegeAwareness

  • ?? Just wrapped up delivering bytesize training sessions alongside Mark Jones for NYAS (National Youth Advocacy Service) on allyship, and I’m inspired by the conversations and commitment shown by everyone who participated. Key Takeaways: 1. Active Listening: Allyship starts with listening to understand rather than to respond. We explored ways to become better listeners and give space for marginalized voices to lead. 2. Empathy in Action: True allyship means moving beyond empathy and taking tangible actions to support those facing discrimination or disadvantage. 3. Accountability: Allies must be accountable not only to the communities they support but also to themselves. This includes recognizing personal biases and making a conscious effort to unlearn them. Commitments Moving Forward: ? Consistent Education: Allyship is a journey, not a destination. We pledged to keep learning, challenging our perspectives, and staying informed. ? Building Inclusive Spaces: NYAS and its allies will continue working to create safe, inclusive spaces for young people, ensuring everyone feels valued and supported. ? Empowering Young Voices: NYAS aims to empower the young people they work with, championing their voices and perspectives as essential drivers for change. Thank you to all who joined and engaged with vulnerability and curiosity. Here’s to making allyship a continuous practice, and creating real impact in the lives of young people!
