I've only felt real panic once in my life--when I was a newly single mom with two little kids, ages 3 and 1. I remember looking at my two amazing people who depended on me to take care of them, and I had no idea how I was going to do it. My grandma was a teacher, and my mom and dad always emphasized education. So I did the only thing I could think of--I went back to school. That decision changed the course of my life. I am grateful for what I learned. I'm even more grateful for the doors that opened because of education. For the next 25 years, I taught intermittently at Brigham Young University, Arizona State University, University of Utah, and Brigham Young University–Hawaii. I had the opportunity to work with many traditional and non-traditional students who met their challenges with determination and rose above them through education. Now, as a co-founder at Fullcast, it is a privilege to work with Ryan Westwood, Isaac Westwood, Lance Evanson Bala B. and Dharmesh S. to give back to support educational initiatives that help people like me.
