Meet Mariam Yaldram! #MentorMagic #MondayMotivation Mariam (Mimi) Yaldram is a dedicated educator and advocate for social justice, currently serving as a Teach for America corps member in D.C., teaching Special Education 8th grade ELA. As a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Alumni in Taiwan (2022-2023), she fosters cross-cultural dialogue. Mariam is on the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Alumni Board of Directors, and serves as secretary for Fulbrighters with Disabilities. She?also mentors with Universities at Shady Grove Campus Mentorship Program and the Fulbright Lotus Mentorship Program, emphasizing the importance of being an AAPI mentor, as it provides representation and guidance for younger generations facing unique cultural challenges. Starting her academic journey at a community college, Mariam transferred to a four-year university with a non-traditional campus, showcasing the diverse pathways to success. Recognized for leadership and service, Mariam was the first alumni from Universities at Shady Grove campus in Montgomery County, Maryland to be a Fulbright Grantee. In her free time, Mariam is a published author and writes about grief, resilience, and hope. She is also a mother, wife, daughter, and caregiver. ?? Applications are now open!
