If you could only pick your 5 favorite photos, which one would you pick? You can see what I chose here: https://lnkd.in/egHeqKYp There’s a reason why these photos matter. I’m sharing some of the research from FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation’s Frame of Mind survey today. The results are fascinating and I know you’ll find them interesting, too. Here are just a few standouts: It’s no secret that our photos have a tremendously powerful impact on our well-being. 71% of us use photos to stay in touch with friends and 66% say that we use photos to feel closer to our loved ones. Photos say everything. While nearly 75% of us use photos to remember the little everyday moments, 68% of us also say that photos are a powerful documentation of our biggest milestones. And it’s not just our most joyful moments that photos capture. 65% of us find solace in our photos when we’re grieving. 42% of us say that when we re-visit our old photos, it can help give us heart when we’re feeling worn down. At 13, Alison Conklin, was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. While dealing with the challenges of being a teenager navigating everything that comes with a chronic condition, she lost her mother to the same disease. In the 1990s, support groups for young patients were not widely available and the internet was still in its infancy, so it was difficult for Alison to find a place of belonging and support. “While all my friends were concerned with homework, gym classes and crushes, I was dealing with life and death issues.” Fortunately, Alison was able to discover #photography and the power that comes with having the ability to “hold onto a memory” with something like a photograph. In 2022, Alison received the news that she needed a heart transplant. While in recovery, she founded the publication, Bonus Days Magazine as a way to celebrate the gift of each day post-operation. Bonus Days is a space for those in the transplant community to connect and feel supported. In addition to be the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Alison also photographed the entire issue exclusively with a Fujifilm GFX camera. ?? As a Fujifilm X-Photographer, Alison embodies everything we love about our creator community and it’s an honor to support her on her visual journey one click at a time. Here’s to many more bonus days, Alison! #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenInPhotography

“I discovered in myself a greater appreciation and respect for #diversity and inclusiveness.” When Stacey Moore, field marketing manager with FUJIFILM North America Corporation’s Electronic Imaging Division, signed up to be a volunteer with a non-profit organization, the opportunity seemed straightforward – work with and support teens with a passion and talent for music. ?????? However, she was not prepared for the emotional impact of not only their art but their ability to fearlessly express themselves. Stacey recalls how the campers “dared to be different” which in turn helped her feel open to showing up more authentically through her clothing and her connection with her community. As a 30-year veteran with Fujifilm, Stacey was also able to teach campers how #photography, just like music, can be a catalyst for creative connection. The experience taught Stacey a lesson that far surpasses choruses and chords. She learned the beauty of sharing unique stories and listening to and embracing them with a loving mind and heart. Rock on, Stacey. Rock on!? #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenInPhotography
