Capturing emissions and producing energy in the process? That’s EXACTLY what we’re developing with FuelCell Energy: Breakthrough carbon capture technology ready for field testing. Our breakthrough project uses carbonate fuel cells to capture more than 90% of CO? emissions from industrial plants. In the process, these fuel cells also generate low-carbon power, heat, and hydrogen – three in-demand resources. And we?can't wait to test the technology in?the real world. #technology #energytransition #carboncapture #hydrogen

This week, FuelCell Energy was proud to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Naval Submarine Base in New London, Connecticut, for its SUBASE micro-grid. The micro-grid system allows the base to generate its own electricity in the event of an outage from the public grid. ?According to Capt. Kenneth M. Curtin, Jr., commanding officer of the base, this is the first of its kind of this scale in the Navy. FuelCell Energy's molten carbonate modules form a cornerstone of the microgrid, creating enough electricity to power over 6,000 homes. We are proud to have played a role in this important project in our home state and in support of the U.S. Navy.

What an inspiring evening at the Connecticut Technology Council's #WomenofInnovation Awards event last night! Being surrounded by so many accomplished and innovative women leaders in #STEM gives me hope that we can close the large #gendergap in STEM positions in the U.S. in the near future. Congratulations to all the Finalists and Award winners and thank you to our sponsors and volunteers that made this truly a memorable evening! https://lnkd.in/ejUWEDm8 HyAxiom, Inc. The SABIT Clean Energy for Kosovo delegation visited FuelCell Energy to tour the Tri-gen System?at the Port of Long Beach in Southern California last month. The FuelCell Energy Tri-gen System is the first in the world to generate renewable electricity, renewable hydrogen, and usable water simultaneously, supporting the processing of about 200,000 Toyota vehicles through the port annually.?Thank you Paul Fukumoto and R. Macon Heath for the tour and Leticia Arias for helping arrange this great visit!

Today is National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day! We are taking this opportunity to spread the word about this versatile technology that produces electricity, heat, and water and can recycle CO2 into a valuable product—all without combustion, which means they are virtually free of NOx, SOx, and particulates. They are also quiet and occupy a compact space, making them easy to site in populated areas. Learn more about what FuelCell Energy’s molten carbonate fuel cells do: - Provide reliable, around-the-clock power to communities. - Generate clean power from biofuel at wastewater treatment plants. - Onsite “distributed” electricity for power-hungry data centers. - Create hydrogen, power, and water from directed biogas to fill fuel cell electric vehicles, power port vehicle processing facilities and wash cars. (Tri-gen) - Capture carbon while generating power, overcoming the “energy penalty”-- the extra energy necessary to power most carbon capture equipment. - Onsite microgrids that are ideal for critical facilities requiring resiliency and continuous, predictable power independent of weather or time of day. - Separating carbon to use for beverages, sugar processing, and meat freezing and other agricultural and industrial uses. #HydrogenFuture #CleanEnergy #NationalHydrogenDay

Next week, on October 8, National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day will be recognized for the 10th year in a row. And we kick off the week in advance of that day by celebrating Tony Leo who retires today as Chief Technology Officer of FuelCell Energy following 46 years with the company. As the world actively adopts hydrogen energy as a key solution for decarbonization, FuelCell Energy is proud to be at the forefront of this transition thanks to the inquisitive, problem-solving approach to the technology by people like Tony. He was pivotal in the development of the Tri-gen system that is being used by Toyota North America at the Port of Long Beach, the first system in the world to use directed biogas to produce renewable electricity, hydrogen, and usable water. Tony also played a huge role in our work with ExxonMobil to build a pilot plant in Rotterdam, testing our joint carbonate fuel cell technology for CO2 capture. FuelCell Energy and the fuel cell industry would not be where they are today without him. Thank you, Tony! You can read about Tony's start in the industry and his path in the article linked here. #HydrogenFuture #CleanEnergy #NationalHydrogenDay #MakeitHere #1.008
