We are overflowing with ribbon cuttings lately at the Fort Worth Chamber and while I can’t attend every one, I love to go when I can to support these new businesses. Today we got to celebrate Nora Mental Health Fort Worth, TX - a great new resource for mental health services in central /near west Fort Worth (right near my neighborhood!). I was thrilled to invite the owner, Bianca LaRue, to join the panel discussion at our upcoming Women’s Leadership Summit on April 24th (will post link in comments). My soul sister, Faith Geiger, LCSW , is moderating the discussion on Redefining Ambition and Success. It will be such a great discussion!

As a collaborator with the City of Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Chamber, local law enforcement, and numerous partnerships with organizations and community leaders, we are excited to be part of the Small Business Homelessness Toolkit. Through the Chamber's Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) team, 65% of the 420 businesses surveyed reported that homelessness directly impacts their daily operations. In urgent collaboration, we were part of the Homelessness Task Force that convened in 2024 to put together resources for the Fort Worth business community to defend their operations and work towards a solution for preserving a safe environment for entrepreneurs, operators and property owners. With this piece, we are another step closer towards a unified effort to reduce the safety concerns of the Fort Worth business community. We have joined nearly 500 organizations, including 15 Texas-based partners, in urging Congress to extend key pro-growth tax provisions from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. Without action, businesses and individuals could face significant tax increases when these provisions expire at the end of the year.
