Tonight, an emergency board meeting was held; we are working to support communities devastated by Hurricane Helene while providing better tools to resource-strapped first responders with help from Amazon Disaster Response and Ascent Integrated Tech using TAK.gov. In recognition of his unparalleled expertise in the TAK ecosystem, Alex Gorsuch has been voted in as the new Executive Director of Trusted Humanitarian Resources Int'l, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization; we have pivoted the entire focus of our non-profit organization to support data-related efforts to guide first responders and charitable organizations for *Americans* in need.
Why TAK?
The Team Awareness Kit (TAK) is not just another tool—it’s a premier situational awareness platform funded by SOCOM and the Air Force Research Laboratory with $50 million in taxpayer dollars. Trusted by ~200,000 users, including first responders and emergency service providers nationwide, TAK has proven itself as the go-to platform for seamless communication and coordination during crises around the globe.
Our Vision for Hurricane Helene Relief
Leveraging the power of TAK, we’re launching a secure, self-reporting tool that will empower users with Starlink access to share needs directly with emergency responders and their community. This will enable rapid, targeted, and efficient assistance at every level—local, state, and federal. MVP is targeted for deployment in 48-72 hours; we hope to integrate with Blake Hall + ID.me to defend against fraudulent help requests.
Strategic High-Impact Partnerships
In this mission, Amazon will ensure our TAK deployment platform remains scalable and resilient, even under extreme demand; our TAK platform can integrate (through federation) with any agency / department that wishes to connect. Together, we are committed to building a reliable system that can adapt to any emergency scenario, with the goal of stepping in for PSAPs that are unable to connect due to fiber optic and cellular backhauls being overwhelmed or destroyed.
Leadership in Action
Alex’s appointment is a testament to his ability to navigate complex environments and his dedication to leveraging TAK for public safety and humanitarian relief. With TAK’s robust capabilities and Alex’s leadership, we're poised to revolutionize how communities respond and recover in the wake of disasters like Hurricane Helene.
This is just the beginning of a coordinated response that puts people first. Stay tuned as we work tirelessly to make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected.
If you can help, we are seeking tax-deductible donations to expedite our deployment efforts. No members are paid or profit in any way. Amazon has a team on the ground now in North Carolina and covers all related cloud fees for our deployment.
