To stay safe while driving during this time, consider the following tips: **Be alert during dawn and dusk** when deer are most active. **Use high beams** if safe, but be aware that headlights can "hypnotize" deer. **Watch for groups**; if one deer is seen, others may be nearby. **Avoid relying on deterrent devices** like whistles, as they often don't work. **Slow down and brake firmly** if a deer is in your path; swerving can lead to accidents. Stay safe on the roads this fall and prevent accidents with deer.
