Our joint efforts with imec and IMST GmbH on developing the Ultra Deep Sub-Micron technology for space has been noted! The Ultra Deep Submicron initiative is being led for European Space Agency - ESA by the Sweden-based?Frontgrade Gaisler?company, which has been active in the field of space-grade microprocessor technology?for nearly 25 years. Frontgrade Gaisler’s General Manager Sandi Habinc: “Our consortium’s initial focus is to establish radiation-hardened libraries and intellectual property (IP) cores that will serve as the foundation for highly reliable and efficient integrated circuits. ... At the same time, we are setting the system requirements such as computational capabilities and interfacing requirements to define the initial products that will come out of the initiative, such as high performance microprocessor." On March 23, 1965, Gemini III (GT-3) became the first crewed Earth-orbiting spacecraft of NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Gemini program. Piloted by Gus Grissom and John Young, the mission demonstrated the spacecraft’s crewed capabilities, setting the stage for future space exploration. This historic flight, lasting just over 4 hours, was a key step toward larger missions, including the Apollo Moon landing.
