In line with our Digital Inclusion core focus, the Digital Navigator Program empowers residents to build confidence and independence in the digital world. One resident shares, "It allows me to stay independent and keep up with the smart devices out here in the world. I’m learning several ways to use my phone and don’t have to be afraid of not knowing how to use it." Another says, "I’m learning how to use my laptop in a healthy and correct way, despite my head injury... my digital navigator has been exceedingly kind and patient." This program is more than just learning technology—it’s about staying connected to family, friends, medical appointments, and the essentials of daily life. ?? Celebrating Connection at the Senior Ball! ?? On October 17th, Friends of DHA supported the annual Senior Ball—a night filled with laughter, music, and joy for 200 of Denver’s older adults. Beyond the dancing and dinner, this event brings together residents to combat social isolation, promote emotional well-being, and strengthen connections that are key to healthy aging. Introducing our Healthy Living Program! Many seniors and individuals with disabilities in our communities prefer to age in place, continuing to live independently in the comfort of their own homes. The programming we support provides essential resources, like health check-ups, access to nutritious meals, events to bridge a social isolation gap, etc., that help make this possible. With these services, community members can maintain fulfilling, independent lives without the need for nursing homes or assisted living. #HealthyLiving #IndependentLiving

Through our Economic Self-Sufficiency programs, Michelle Ross gained the support and resources needed to overcome significant challenges after becoming the sole provider for her five children. By participating in the?Academies To Work?program, she secured employment at Denver Housing Authority and is pursuing a bachelor's degree, all while navigating personal hardships. Youth Development Partner Spotlight: Metropolitan State University of Denver We're proud to highlight our incredible partnership with Metropolitan State University (MSU) Denver Family Literacy Program! Through their 2Generation literacy service, this program empowers immigrant and refugee families by providing essential services that uplift both parents and children. The program offers: -ESL Classes with a concurrent Early Family Literacy Program for children ages 1-5 -GED Preparation Classes in English and Spanish -Parent-to-Paraprofessional Training -Parents as Teachers home visitation program Located at the Quigg Newton Community Center, MSU Denver is committed to ensuring that parents gain the skills they need to become their children's first and best teachers.
