The Great Allegheny Passage Conservancy is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to complete a formal infrastructure inventory and maintenance management plan that the organization and trail segment owners can implement to ensure the integrity of the 150-mile Great Allegheny Passage for the next 15-30 years.?

Join us on October 8th for?the next Hazelwood to Carrie Furnace Public Meeting at the new Hazelwood Brewhouse! The meeting will include a short presentation on the project's progress and current status followed by an open-house style opportunity to review project plans and details. We'd like to thank?New France Brewing Company and?Abstract Realm Brewing Co for providing a venue for our meeting that is accessible via the Three?Rivers?Heritage Trail! Making the community a better place ?? Friends Of The Riverfront invited Alcoans to a large trail near our Pittsburgh headquarters. They spent a few hours cleaning litter and overgrown vegetation, collecting more than 5 TONS from the trail. Read more about the volunteer effort: https://bit.ly/46Ucu3t

In collaboration with Friends Of The Riverfront, PortPitt - Port of Pittsburgh Commission, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, we recently helped host a kayak paddle through Allegheny Lock No. 3 for local leaders and community advocates. Participants got a first-hand experience of what it’s like to “lock-through” a dam on one of our region’s rivers. Recreational and commercial use of our rivers is crucial for the towns along the rivers, and we are committed to securing the future of these valuable resources. Thank you for coming, Sen. Our Stewardship team is hiring a full time AmeriCorps service member through the Pennsylvania Mountain Service Corps AmeriCorps for a 1700-hour position (approx. 37 hours per week) beginning August 20, 2024 through August 2, 2025. Service members are eligible for a bi-weekly stipend during their service and education award following the successful completion of their placement. Apply today!
