关于我们
Friends of the Los Angeles River (FoLAR) has spent over 30 years bringing the River to the People and the People to the River. With the goal of restoring community connection to the the LA River, FoLAR has been the largest unifying force educating, empowering, and mobilizing over 50,000 Angelenos to repair habitat and fight for the policies that will reclaim our collective right to a healthy, thriving, and equitably accessible LA River. MISSION We build capacity for communities, students, and future leaders to advocate for nature, climate, and equity on the Los Angeles River. VISION We envision a verdant Los Angeles River that supports vulnerable communities in climate adaptation. The river will be transformed into a dynamic, functioning ecosystem that reduces flood risk, cleans the air, cools temperatures, and supports the biodiversity essential to our collective wellbeing. EQUITY STATEMENT The LA River traverses through diverse communities of people, plants, and geographies. It provides an opportunity to reshape our environment in a way that is more inclusive, equitable, and just. We are committed to building a team, leadership, and a River Movement that is as diverse as the communities the River touches. We believe in working with nature and alongside communities to achieve climate resilience, park equity, and environmental health for all.

At Friends of the LA River, we believe that the River belongs to everyone, and it has the potential to enrich every neighborhood it touches. But to unlock that potential, we need your support. This year, we’re launching FoLAR51—our year-end campaign to raise $51,000 to support restoration and programming across all 51 miles of the LA River. Your support will help us remove invasive species, restore native habitats, and bring hands-on educational experiences to thousands of Angelenos. Every dollar you give brings us closer to a River that reflects the best of Los Angeles—a River where wildlife can thrive, where kids can explore and learn, and where every community has access to clean, thriving green spaces. Your support directly impacts our programs along all 51 miles of the River and helps us into the future as we bring our vision of a verdant, vibrant, equitably-accessible LA River to life—one mile at a time. Donate today at FoLAR.org/donate! ??
