Friends of the LA River is hiring a Director of Community Engagement! In this role, you’ll lead efforts to inspire Angelenos to connect with and care for the LA River. When kids get to step outside and explore their environment up close, they’re not just learning about science or nature—they’re living it. From testing water quality to spotting native birds, these moments spark curiosity, build confidence, and help students see how they can make a difference in their own communities by caring about and advocating for nature. Friends of the LA River invites YOU to roll up your sleeves and make a difference for your local community at the?34th Annual?Great LA River CleanUp! The Great LA River Cleanup is our chance to come together and make a?tangible positive impact?on our local environment. Following community meetings and surveys, the County of Los Angeles, Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting an open house this Sunday, July 28th to share progress on schematic designs for the Lower LA River Trail & 72nd St. Equestrian Park Project! Join them from 12-2pm at the 72nd Street Equestrian Park in Long Beach and spread the word by sharing flyers with colleagues, friends, or family who use the trail ??

Friends of the Los Angeles River (FoLAR) is hosting our third annual River Fest – a FREE open-air environmental arts and community festival celebrating the culture, history, and people that shape the LA River. Our third annual River Fest will feature a variety of local artists with thrilling live performances, a stunning visual art gallery and a bustling marketplace.
