Friends of Aphasia strives to enhance the lives of those living with aphasia, including individuals who have aphasia, their families, and their community, through efforts to support the following: ? access to quality, patient-centered aphasia therapy services focused on participation in meaningful life activities; ? development and implementation of community education, advocacy, and outreach programs; and ? research aimed at advancing innovative and effective aphasia treatment approaches. We envision a world in which aphasia does not limit quality of life.

?? Supporting Communication Skills This Summer ?? During our summer break, our Social Media Group has been sharing activities from One Aphasia Action to continue supporting people living with aphasia. This initiative, started by the National Aphasia Association (NAA) during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, was designed to help people enhance their communication skills despite the challenges of social isolation. We’re proud to share that our co-founders, Gabby Giffords and Dr. Fabi Hirsch Kruse, were invited to highlight some of the strategies Gabby uses to continue making progress in her speech therapy. With the summer heat keeping many of us indoors, now is a perfect time to revisit these valuable activities. These activities are not only beneficial for those with aphasia but can be great for anyone looking to sharpen their communication skills. Why not try one (or two) today?
