The Fresno Arts Council (FAC), on behalf of the?City of Fresno, seeks nominations for the position of Fresno Poet Laureate. The person selected shall seek to advance the awareness of and appreciation for the literary arts and humanities within the greater Fresno community.?The nomination deadline is January 24, 2025. As both a local resident and distinguished poet, the Poet Laureate shall represent and celebrate the diversity and history of Fresno and, as a spokesperson for the City of Fresno’s literary community, the Poet Laureate shall endeavor to promote the artistic achievements of the City of Fresno and actively participate in ceremonial, educational, and cultural activities in the community at various times throughout their term of service. The Poet Laureate for the City of Fresno is an honorary position. The individual selected will serve a two-year term, commencing in April 2025 and ending March 2027. ??Deadline March 25th! ??The Fresno Arts Council announced its Request for Proposals (RFP) for Expanded Access to Arts and Culture Fund Grants last December. Now, the deadline for online applications is approaching. Proposals are due March 25, 2024 at 11:59PM. Read full announcement: https://lnkd.in/gVBPuaQr Fresno Arts Council, under an administrative contract with the City of Fresno, is seeking applications for the first round of arts and culture funding generated by Measure P, the sales tax initiative passed by Fresno voters in 2018. Applications should address priorities outlined in Fresno’s Cultural Arts Plan, approved in August 2023 by Fresno City Council. Following the release of the RFP, the Fresno Arts Council hosted a series of workshops to assist the community in applying for the grants. The final information session will be held Saturday, March 9th at the Woodward Park Library from 1:00-3:00PM. Register at https://lnkd.in/gDeT-Tac.
