This holiday season, FLY is giving Hope for the Holidays! The holidays can be a tough time for youth away from their homes and loved ones. That’s why we’re inviting the FLY community to come together and show our love and support. With your help, we’ll deliver care packages and notes of encouragement to incarcerated youth, reminding them they are not alone. Want to join us? Here’s how: ?? Write a letter of encouragement—we’ll print it on a personalized holiday card! ?? Help us build care packages on December 13th. ?? Make a donation to FLY to give hope, joy, and support not just during the holidays, but all year long. Now through Dec 31st, double your #impact! Get involved: https://lnkd.in/g_nbvM2J Let’s spark hope together and make this season a little brighter! #holidayfundraiser?#hopefortheholidays?#holidayseason?#bayareanonprofits?#communityfirst

We are excited to be hosting our 3rd Content Creator Fellowship in partnership with YouthBeat! This video created by a Content Creator Alum features our newest cohort practicing their skills on a field trip to the city! This paid fellowship provides FLY youth with an #opportunity to learn #contentcreation skills using an Apple #iphone as their camera. At the end of the 6 month period they will have marketable skills in photography and videography and keep their phones. Shout out to Alexandra Perry and Diana Joves for leading this amazing and creative effort to support youth in pursuing their dreams! ? Also appreciation (and video credit) to Anastacia Duenas FLY Alum and Staff your continued support of this fellowship! ?? #sanfrancisco #nonprofit #youth #futurism #marketing #youthleadership

Message from FLY’s President and CEO, Artavia B. Berry, M.Div: Following yesterday’s election, we recognize the range of emotions many of us may feel. In this moment, I want to reaffirm that achieving FLY's mission is even more critical as we enter this next phase in our country's history. As a Black woman, I feel a great sense of resilience and draw inspiration from my ancestors, who in fact, endured and overcame far greater atrocities than our minds can imagine. I invite you to take time for your own reflections, to seek inspiration and hope from those who came before us. We will remain committed to our values and the crucial work we’re doing in California and beyond. Our youth will continue to be our North Star in the days, months, and years ahead. Many are asking, where do we go from here? We go forward, united in our efforts to disrupt the pipeline to prison, and to support every youth we are privileged to serve.

At FLY, we encourage everyone to raise their voice and?#vote, especially our young people! FLY opposes Prop 36 in?#California;?listen to FLY youth , Erial, explain why she opposes Prop 36. Simply put, Prop 36 is NOT the solution we need to improve our communities because it does not address the ROOT of the problem. It will waste billions on the prison system while cutting essential funding from the resources that help keep our young people out of the justice system. At FLY, we believe in investing in prevention, NOT incarceration. Vote NO on Prop 36 and protect real safety for our youth. Let's go #forward, not backward! #StopProp36 #VoteNo #InvestInYouth #CaliforniaLegislation #bayarea #CAvote #justice #bethechange https://lnkd.in/gmSzV3Vp

Your #vote matters to FLY youth and to your community. Prop 36 is a step backward for California’s youth and communities. It will waste billions on prisons and jails while cutting vital funding for drug treatment and prevention programs—programs that help keep young people out of the justice system. At FLY, we believe in investing in prevention, NOT incarceration. Vote NO on Prop 36 and protect real safety for our youth. ??Champion of Change: Introducing Diane, a Site Manager at Fresh Lifelines for Youth. ?? "As an SF native, I have experienced first hand the struggles that teens face in the city due to the lack of resources. I am thankful that FLY gives me the opportunity to educate youth about the law, and through a strength based approach, the youth gain the power to become leaders in their community. Community based organizations are imperative to the upbringing of a youth. It takes a village to raise kids, and I am happy to be part of that village that pours love into my community." Thank you Diane for your dedication to youth and?#community! ?? #leadership #SFNonprofitsWork?#SocialSafetyNet
