Job Title: Accountant Location: Uganda Industry:Finance & Accounting Employment Type:Full Time Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to oversee our financial operations, tax compliance, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of tax laws, cash flow management, finalizing accounts, and preparing business proposals. Key Responsibilities: - Ensure tax compliance with Ugandan tax laws. - Prepare and finalize financial statements in line with accounting standards. - Manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting to support smooth business operations. - Prepare and present business proposals and financial reports to assist in decision-making. - Ensure adherence to financial reporting standards and local regulatory requirements. - Collaborate with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions. - Maintain accurate records of all transactions, invoices, and payments. Qualifications & Requirements: - BSc in Finance or related field. - CPA professional certification. - Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within Uganda. - Strong understanding of Ugandan tax laws and financial regulations. - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally). - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. Eligibility: - Must be a legal resident of Uganda or a Ugandan national. Job Opportunity: Pricing Coordinator PURPOSE: To ensure clear, concise, and accurate responses to pricing processes, aligned with company pricing policies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Collaborate with appointed partner agents to coordinate pricing requests and ensure timely responses. - Continuously monitor, audit, and analyze automated price quote activity, identifying and addressing systematic risks, sales concerns, and ensuring proper maintenance of pricing formulas and tables for approved changes. - Anticipate and address missing data in price quote exception requests, obtaining necessary information to ensure proper review of relevant facts for each opportunity. - Follow up on all sent quotes, ensuring accurate reports and addressing any required adjustments. - Provide timely responses to customer emails and related inquiries. - Prepare handover checklists for both import and export Customer Service teams. - Coordinate cargo pick-up from origin ports and ensure price approvals are obtained before a handover report is submitted. - Design and maintain pricing activity reports to ensure transparency, manage pricing integrity, and evaluate discounting processes. - Prepare weekly reports on Quote Logs & Freight Logs, distributing to other stations for record-keeping. - Advise customers on incoterms for inquiries and provide solutions for price disagreements between customers and suppliers. - Ensure receipt of correct debit notes from partner agents before forwarding to Finance for billing and fund remittance. - Collaborate with the Transport Manager to secure competitive transport rates. - Work with airlines to negotiate better rate cards for various airports. - Input approved quotes into the SCM system for seamless Finance information retrieval during billing. - Communicate pricing requirements and quote procedures clearly to the Sales team. - Discuss pricing requests with the Group Commercial Manager and Sales Managers to ensure proper understanding of opportunities and pricing implications. - Ensure the accurate system filing of approved price quotes for effective contracting during final sales.
