We're so excited to see the launch of this amazing initiative: the Chef Partner Program! ?? Featuring the first Black-owned Freight Farm in Minnesota, this program is an impactful example of how agriculture can support BIPOC farmers, local chefs, and year-round fresh produce. Cheers to Route 1 MN for leading the way in wellness, sustainability, and economic development through farming.
Today, we're proud to announce our Chef Partner Program, an initiative that provides local chefs with premium, locally-sourced produce that's grown by BIPOC emerging?farmers across our great state of Minnesota. It's an honor to launch the program after an initial pilot with The James Beard Foundation award-winning and nationally acclaimed chefs and mixologists from the area including: Jesse Held and @Michael Brookens from?Earl Giles Gavin Kaysen?and Executive Chef Chris Nye of?Spoon and Stable?and Executive Chef and Owner Jorge Guzman of?Chilango Mex-Tex In addition to the seasonal crops that are grown on the outside in the dirt, the program is extended through the year with produce cultivated and harvested from our hydroponic shipping container farm, the first Black-owned?Freight Farms?in the state of?#Minnesota, a partnership made possible with?the support of American Family Insurance Institute for Corporate and Social Impact With the launch today, we extend the invitation to more local restaurants to partner with?#Route1?and the farmers we serve to create more opportunity for wellness?and #economicdevelopment through agriculture.
