We are over the moon to announce that the Colorado Avs are officially welcoming FSD Service Dog in training Maxy to the family!🐕🦺 This sweet pup was named in honor of the beloved late Avs Color Analyst and U.S. Hockey Hall of Famer, Peter McNab (nicknamed Maxy), who passed away after a long battle with cancer in 2022. FSD pup Maxy is just 3-weeks-old and is excited to start her journey as the Avs team dog and a future FSD Service Dog superstar!🌟

Today is National Labrador Retriever Day! At FSD, we primarily train Labrador Retrievers (as well as Golden Retrievers and mixes of the two) in our assistance dog program. Not only do they have ideal temperaments for service work, but they're also highly trainable, food motivated, and love to work. For FSD puppies with a purpose, the journey to becoming an assistance dog starts day one in our nursery. In the first eight weeks of puppies' lives, they experience significant physical and mental development that shape who they become as adult dogs. During these formative weeks, all FSD puppies receive daily socialization and enrichment activities that foster their development and encourage qualities we seek in assistance dogs, such as confidence and resilience. We are so excited to announce that HCA HealthOne Aurora welcomed FSD Professional Therapy Dog Thumper to their team!🐾 Partnered with EMS Director Doug, Thumper will bring comfort, joy, and stress relief to hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
