Fifty-four percent of survivors of human trafficking said transportation was a barrier to leaving their situation. Somewhere between identifying that trafficking is occurring and the survivor seeking full restoration, there is currently no guaranteed, safe, and efficient way of transporting survivors or their advocates to and from a rescue operation, between rescue shelters, court appointments, or back home to their families. Often, the solution is putting survivors back onto some form of public transportation where they are subjected to chaotic travel environments and the risk of re-exploitation. Additionally, organizations who counter human trafficking need reliable methods of transportation to various locations for the purpose of conducting rescue operations, going to meet a potential client, or simply conducting networking activities for their organization. Freedom Aviation Network is composed of aviation professionals who remain on-call to use our time, resources, and skills specifically completely free of charge for counter-human trafficking efforts. Pilots will volunteer their time and skills, and aircraft owners will volunteer their equipment and resources in order to provide the best service possible. We simply could not achieve any of this without the passionate volunteers that dedicate their time in helping people access the freedom they deserve.
