Imagine experiencing food insecurity in America—not just having insufficient food, but going days without anything to eat. Think about the children who face severe neglect, especially when school is out. Now, picture that child knocking on the doors of strangers, hoping to find something to eat or help. Do you think: A. It's always good to get a reminder of "What is Human Trafficking?" Human trafficking is an issue that affects millions worldwide, and it's crucial that we stay informed. Human trafficking involves force, fraud, or coercion, often trapping individuals in situations where they cannot escape. It's very important to recognize that every victim of trafficking is forced against their will and or manipulated into situations they cannot control. DHS Center for Countering Human Trafficking is an outstanding advocate and their Blue Campaign is a national public awareness campaign designed to educate the public, law enforcement, and other industry partners to recognize the indicators of human trafficking, and how to appropriately respond to possible cases. When living authentically and not solely for the purpose of making everyone else comfortable, l've learned to be at ease with the discomfort of not being universally understood. Breaking free and being true to myself, I know that not everyone will comprehend my path or even align with it. And that's the beauty of the world 🌍 - the ability to choose our own way while also staying true to ourselves My North Star and path not chosen by many to take in the counter trafficking space, and choosing to serve in a space that is so challenging in many ways, and even avoided by many, is my offering. I won’t be in it forever as other leaders step up and in and we welcome you. Chase your North Star and don’t worry what everyone says about it. It’s your path and your vision. Your truth might just be the correct added ingredient for a positive shift. So stay true 🤍✨
