??It’s Apprenticeship Week, and we’re fortunate to have Lindsey Blum, a Youth Apprentice from Linganore High School, on our team! Lindsey works primarily with our Business Services and Communications teams, while also supporting other departments at FCWS. Through these experiences, she’s gaining valuable insights into Workforce Development and developing her skills in a professional business environment. She’s receiving hands-on training, developing key skills, and making a real impact across multiple teams. Who we are: As one of the nation's American Job Centers, Frederick County Workforce Services (FCWS) links businesses in need of qualified employees with individuals seeking employment opportunities. What we do: For job seekers, FCWS provides comprehensive career management services, including: career assessment and vocational counseling, computer and job search seminars, assistance with resume and interview preparation, career training scholarships, and access to hundreds of current job listings through the Maryland Workforce Exchange. For businesses, FCWS utilizes innovative strategies to help identify and achieve recruitment, retention and training goals. Services for businesses include: placement assistance, job listing opportunities, customized employee training, access to funding for training, outplacement services, use of onsite facilities, and on-the-job training programs for new hires. Harvest of Hope Festival | Turkey Distribution In partnership with the Spanish Speaking Community of Maryland, Inc., Frederick County residents are invited to the Harvest of Hope Festival, a day of community support, fun, and celebration. Date/Time: 12 PM - 4PM, Wednesday, November 20th Location: Harry Grove Stadium Parking Lot - 21 Stadium Drive Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Wegmans, the Harvest of Hope Festival will offer a variety of exciting activities and resources for all attendees.
