Mamas far and wide are encouraged to explore Mothering Justice's issues of focus to find out how you can join their movement and take action. This grassroots policy advocacy organization provides mothers of color in Southeast Michigan, and across the country, with the resources and tools to use their power to make equitable changes in policy.

Our partnership with the Huron River Watershed Council helps grassroots organizations develop and distribute materials to assist local units of government in creating and sustaining healthy watersheds to better protect the Huron River. Through the Detroit Arts Support program, the Foundation supports a variety of arts and cultural organizations housed at universities in metro Detroit. We are proud to continue to support the Detroit Sound Conservancy: A Nonprofit Community-Based Music Archive as it renovates the Blue Bird Inn – a historic jazz venue that will be a new home for the Conservancy’s administration, music, and community programming, and archives. In our last grant cycle, we continue to support The Henry Ford as it relocates and restores the historic civil rights artifact, the Jackson House, to Greenfield Village. This grant ensures this piece of American civil rights history will be preserved, restored, and interpreted so that it can be shared with a global audience. Do you fish, boat, or live and play near the Detroit River? Friends of the Detroit River and the Detroit River Public Advisory Council are hosting a series of community forums to give you the opportunity to share feedback on the future of the river's fish habitat restoration and public access. The next forum will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the Rouge Civic Center from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
