Not all heroes make it home... That tragedy rings true as an average of 21 families watch their First Responder loved one walk out the door, only to never return. The impact of a line-of-duty death (LODD) goes far beyond the badge. Not only does a community & agency lose a servant leader... a spouse loses their warrior / best friend, a child loses their hero, and a family experiences a loss of income. While we can't always prevent LODDs, we can help reduce the financial burden it creates for families in our country by being a direct source of financial support. All of this is made possible by the generosity of our donors and our 100% Giving Model – where every single public dollar donated goes to these families. A bright light in a dark place for the families of fallen First Responders.
关于我们
The Hard Truth... Each month, an average of 21 First Responders sacrifice all in the line of duty. This leads to a double tragedy as their families are often plunged into financial and emotional hardship, with many relying on bake sales and fundraisers—only to barely keep their heads above water. We’re grateful for the bake sales, but they fall short of the true immediate needs of the families of fallen First Responders. FRBA was created to end the tragedy behind the tragedy. The Bright Light... When a First Responder tragically perishes in the line of duty, FRBA steps in to provide hope-giving financial support to their family. Through your generosity, we’re able to distribute vital funds to their most pressing basic needs. This means a spouse can focus on grieving the loss of their loved one, without the burden of wondering how their bills will get paid, how their kids will be fed, or how their lights will stay on, during the darkest hour. 100% Giving Model... Our founder, First Responder Task Force (www.FRTF.us), funds all of our administrative and overhead expenses - making it possible for 100% of the public donations we receive to go directly to serving the families of fallen First Responders. The average nonprofit spends nearly 66% of public donations on administrative and overhead expenses that include salaries, general expenses, and fundraising costs. This means for every $1.00 donated, only $0.34 is actually given to those you intended to help. With our 100% Giving Model, for every $1.00 donated, a family receives $1.00. That's generosity, done right. Our Goal... By 2025, our goal is to be an immediate source of financial and emotional support to 100% of families impacted by the loss of a First Responder in the line of duty. How You Can Help... To find out more about how we’re helping the families of fallen First Responders, and how you can become an ally in this mission, visit: www.FRBA.org

In a heartwarming testament to resilience and support, we celebrate a milestone with Sergeant Jawn Fisher. Diagnosed with ALL Leukemia at four, Jawn's journey has been one of bravery. His fascination with law enforcement led to a bond with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, Palisade Police Department, and Grand Junction Police Department, who supported him during his battle. He was even Deputized and later promoted to Sergeant in 2023, making him Sergeant Jawn! Today, we are overjoyed to share that Sergeant Jawn is 1.5 years cancer-free! To celebrate, Mesa County Sheriff's Office had a pizza party and he toured the Sheriff's Office, where Jawn, with his infectious smile, climbed through the BearCat. His rise to Sergeant in 2023 shows his spirit and the power of community. Sergeant Jawn's story is a beacon of hope, urging us all to keep fighting. His family encourages everyone to consider donating blood or registering as a bone marrow donor, enabling more celebrations like this. . In the face of challenge and urgency, the Fort Worth Fire Department and River Oaks Fire Department showcased extraordinary bravery and skill in rescuing Hank. Their swift and meticulous efforts in the confined space rescue operation exemplify the true spirit of first responders—dedicated, heroic, and compassionate. Thank you for your unwavering commitment and for ensuring Hank's safe return. Your bravery not only saved a life but also warmed the hearts of all who witnessed this incredible rescue. We are profoundly grateful for your service and the remarkable difference you make every day. ???? "Recently the Fort Worth Fire Department assisted the River Oaks Fire Department in saving "Hank" from an old water well cistern that he fell down into. He was about 20 feet down the well when the FWFD arrived on scene with River Oaks. Once on scene, firefighters assessed the situation, developed a rescue plan and began a "confined space rescue operation" to reach Hank. Despite the oxygen at the bottom of the cistern being very low, Hank was alert and intently watching the operation taking place above him. Once the FWFD rescuer was attached to the rope and equipped with air, it took only 3 ? minutes to complete the lowering and hauling operation. Hank was safely brought above ground where he was given oxygen and assessed for any injuries. The rescue operation, in total, took only 38 minutes. And we are so glad to report that Hank is healthy, happy and unharmed. ????" Stay safe, #fortworth . .
