Our Story
In 1894 Josephine Dudzik, later known as Mother Mary Theresa, established a religious congregation of women known as the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago. Today, Franciscan Ministries, continues their mission to serve by providing high-quality senior living communities that include independent and assisted living, memory support and rehabilitation services. They also operate a family violence and prevention shelter in Indiana, and a foundation to help high school girls receive a Catholic education.
