Earlier today, the Franklin County Commissioners presented the 2025 proposed budget of $162.7 million. The total property tax millage rate remains unchanged at 29.1 mills and consists of a general operating millage of 25.0 and debt service millage of 4.1. This marks Franklin County’s ninth consecutive year without a general fund tax increase. The Franklin County Commissioners are pleased to welcome Stefanie Basalik as the county’s new archives and records management director. Basalik replaces Rikki Chesley, who stepped down from the role earlier this year. In this role, Basalik will oversee the records management of all county departments, including the proper preservation of records and managing an appropriate disposal system, under the jurisdiction of the commissioners, elected officials and the court. She will also lead the day-to-day operations of the county’s archives department, which manages and catalogs critical county records for internal operations as well as for public use.
