Kicking off our employee spotlight series, we have our Founder and President of Franklin Associates, Perry J. Franklin. Perry founded Franklin Associates in 2005 in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Perry's nonprofit background prepared him for his role assisting those in need through disaster recovery efforts and community engagement. Perry’s professional career spans three decades inclusive of real estate and urban redevelopment, community outreach and engagement, governmental relations, and several aspects of disaster recovery. Nearly two decades since Franklin's founding, Perry leads his team of professionals specializing in staff augmentation, disaster and grants management, community engagement, and governmental relations. Perry is a graduate of LSU and an active member of his community's civic fabric through his direct community service, non-profit involvement, and philanthropy. Perry has led his team to be named one of Baton Rouge Business Report’s Best Places to Work for the third year in a row. Franklin has been recognized in the top ten of LSU’s 100 Fastest Growing Tiger Businesses three times, taking the Fastest Growing Tiger Business in 2017. Franklin Associates’ projects have proven excellence through multiple awards from organizations such as the American Planning Association, Congress for New Urbanism, American Society of Landscape Architects, and others. More than awards, Perry is focused on the impact of the firm's work. Returning displaced residents home delivers a palpable sense of professional satisfaction, Perry says, but he is also passionate about the side of his business that gives communities a stronger voice in urban planning and infrastructure projects. Perry says, “It all ties back to our mission, putting people first.”
