After nearly two years in hospitals, Jeet is finally home! Jeet suffered a stroke that caused brain damage, and while his journey continues, he has made incredible progress at Franciscan Children’s. With the support of our dedicated team, he received intensive rehabilitation, including respiratory, physical, occupational, and speech therapies, as well as medication weaning and medical stabilization. Earlier this week, Jeet went home to be reunited with his family, ready for his next chapter. #SoEveryKidCan #GoingHome

Our Boston Marathon team member Marie Murray wants to be a pediatric neurologist. Two years ago, she started volunteering with our Adaptive Sports program to learn about helping children with disabilities – and she never left! Meet Xian He, one of our incredible runners taking on the 2025 Boston Marathon for Franciscan Children’s! As you can see in the video, Xian recently visited our medical units with his son Lucas. He was so moved by the strength of the kids in our care and knew he wanted to make a difference. Training hard with 50 miles a week, Xian carries our kids in his heart with every step. We are beyond grateful for Loomis, Sayles & Company's incredible support of the Children’s Wellness Initiative (CWI) at Franciscan Children’s! Thanks to their generosity, more students in Boston Public Schools are receiving the mental health support they need through school-based counseling, outreach, and education. Loomis’ commitment to empowering children is truly making a difference! We also want to give a special shoutout to Loomis for their hands-on volunteer efforts last week at the Hernandez School! "One step at a time." This week, our President, Joe Mitchell, achieved an extraordinary milestone, reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro! In Joe's words: "As I approached the summit and crested the ridge, I was overcome by gratitude and emotion. Kilimanjaro is a slow, 'one step at a time' marathon that tests your mental and physical stamina. It reminded me of our steady and continuous efforts to grow and improve Franciscan Children's. I was proud to represent our amazing team, families, and kids." This incredible journey is a testament to the resilience, determination and heart that drive our mission every day. After spending his whole life in hospitals, little Leon is finally home - just in time to celebrate his dad’s birthday! Leon was born premature and needed to be put on a ventilator. He came to Franciscan Children’s 9 months ago, where our care teams worked diligently to get him stronger and teach his parents to care for him. On Wednesday, he left the hospital for the very first time. Our staff gave him the traditional Franciscan Children’s Bubble Parade sendoff. We’re so excited that Leon is finally home with his parents and can’t wait to see what he achieves next! #SoEveryKidCan #GoingHome
