??? One of my favorite podcast recordings to date! And most importantly, it's been incredibly rewarding to receive so many messages from patients who felt heard and seen after listening. It was also so meaningful to join this podcast because it reflects what Frame is all about—collaborating with amazing in-person clinics and physicians to enhance the patient experience. Spending time with Dr. Susan Hudson, Dr. Carrie Bedient, MD, and Dr. Abby Eblen felt like coming home in more ways than one (perhaps why I blabbed on for so long in the beginning!) At Frame, we’re bridging the gap between visits through our virtual solution, and we couldn't do this without partnering with in-person primary care, OB/GYN, and fertility clinics. Our hybrid model is key, and I believe all virtual solutions must have a hybrid approach to truly improve patient outcomes. I've been fortunate to have had incredible mentors throughout my career, but it’s especially meaningful when those relationships evolve into something more—like the partnership I now have with the amazing Jill Chisholm. A few years ago, my experience in the fertility space was personal—I was a patient. I faced the struggles of infertility, enduring years of treatment and uncertainty. Coming out on the other side, I felt a deep drive to work in this industry and help others in similar situations. When I entered the field, I was lucky to find mentors like Jill (and many others) who offered their wisdom as we navigated the problems facing patients and clinics and identified solutions. Jill and I met at ASRM a little over a year ago and she's continued to be a guiding light for me ever since. And I’m thrilled to share that our relationship has grown into a partnership. Our companies, Frame and GENESCREEN COUNSELING, LLC, are now working together to help patients better understand their family and genetic history. We’re ensuring these vital conversations and tests happen earlier, empowering patients with knowledge to accelerate their next steps. This is women supporting women. Veterans uplifting new founders. Does Frame continue supporting patients who need fertility treatment? Absolutely! Frame’s proactive approach involves partnering with Obgyns and primary care doctors to identify patients who may need fertility treatment early on. This early intervention allows a seamless transition and gets patients on the right path ASAP, with an initial intake, testing and patient education already completed before this hand-off. We’re actively expanding our network of fertility clinic partners and providing hands-on, concierge support to patients throughout their fertility journey. Our primary goal with these partnerships is RETENTION, from potential new patient to treatment completion and back around to their Obgyn for timely prenatal care. We care about PCOS! ??????
“You have cysts on your ovaries…likely the reason for your infertility…” That’s all I heard when I was first diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Cysts. Infertility. Both felt terrifying. But surprisingly, my PCOS diagnosis provided clarity in our journey, ultimately helping us get pregnant. What I learned later was even more shocking: (1) PCOS is both common and under-diagnosed: 10-13% of reproductive-aged women have it, similar to the prevalence of diabetes, yet estimates reveal that 50-70% go undiagnosed. (2) PCOS impacts both physical and emotional health: It's linked to depression, anxiety, body image issues (often leading to eating disorders), heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol. (3) PCOS remains poorly understood: As a syndrome, its root causes are unclear, despite its wide-reaching impact. It’s a clear victim of underfunding in women’s health research (just 3% of 2023 digital health VC funding, and 4% of healthcare R&D). At Frame, we’re working to uncover and address the root causes of fertility challenges, including PCOS, but this is just the start. We need far more funding, innovation, and support for conditions like PCOS. If we care about diabetes, we must care about PCOS.? If we care about mental health, we must care about PCOS.?
