Practice makes Perfect ?? ? Last Friday, our founder Charlotte Meerstadt closed the New York Stock Exchange NYSE with our cohort of companies in the MetaProp Proptech accelerator. March 14th was a good day in the market after a rough week- a good metaphor for the startup journey! All the companies pledged to invite each other to future bell ringing activities. ?? ?? Fun fact: Charlotte banged the gong to open the Amsterdam Stock Exchange Euronext on July 11th 2018 with her Delft Hyperloop student team.

Fram Energy is bringing the energy transition to rental homes. Why are only 1% of residential solar panels deployed on rental properties? Because it's difficult for rental owners to capture the returns from solar, since tenants typically pay their energy bills. The solar energy savings would bypass the landlord, so they don’t bother to install. Fram Energy's team of engineers makes solar deployment for multifamily and single family rentals profitable and effortless. Fram Energy supports property owners with installing solar and enables them to recoup the investment through our tenant energy billing software. Essentially, we split the solar savings between the owner and the tenant. We deliver new and predictable NOI, compliance with energy codes/net zero commitments and a compelling tenant value proposition.

?? A high-momentum start to the New Year: Forbes featured Fram Energy as one of the five environmental startups to watch in 2025! Thank you Christer Holloman for the fun conversation. We're in great company- with our good friends at Pathways and three other top notch startups: Vycarb, Voltpost and Synonym. Check out the article and let us know what you think- do you agree with the founders on what the year ahead holds? ??
For my most recent Forbes article I met five early-stage cleantech startups working on reducing carbon emissions; highlights below and full length here: https://lnkd.in/etEUzVc3 Fram Energy tackles the “split incentive” issue, where landlords lack motivation to install solar panels since tenants pay the energy bills. Pathways partners with material manufacturers to provide environmental product declarations (EPDs), the sustainability equivalent of nutrition labels. Vycarb has developed a method to remove and store carbon using water-based technology to replicate and accelerate natural oceanic carbon cycles. Synonym are building infrastructure to turn lab breakthroughs into market-ready products, such as spider silk used for body armour. Voltpost converts normal lampposts to EV charging stations, making charging more available in urban areas. Together, these startups are navigating challenges while seizing opportunities to redefine their sectors. By blending innovation with strategic foresight, they are shaping a sustainable and economically viable future for us all in 2025 and beyond. ?? Find this valuable? Repost to help others. Exciting to see the Fram Energy case being launched at Stanford University Graduate School of Business! We're looking forward to many years of MBA students learning from the very first part of the Fram journey. ???
Early in founding Fram Energy, sometimes when I needed to make a difficult decision I would pretend that my classmates at Stanford were discussing the dilemma as a class case. I am honored that now, 18 months after graduating, I can get actual input from GSB students through the new case on Fram! A real GSB grad bucket list item. It was an absolute pleasure premiering the Fram Energy case yesterday at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. The students in "Impact: From Idea to Enterprise" did a great job dissecting: ?? the big market and favorable dynamics of Fram Energy ?? the barriers and challenges we face ??? whether our impact goals are ever in conflict with commercial objectives ??♀? whether it was a good decision to found solo ?? decisions I made raising our pre-seed and who's on the cap table Thank you for the lively class discussion! The best part was that Charles Hudson, our investor at Precursor Ventures was able to dial in as well and weigh in on how an early stage investor sees an opportunity like Fram Energy. This year my participation was virtual due to being 4 weeks after giving birth- I'm excited to come to class in person next year! In the end I forgot to take a screenshot during class, so I just have this picture I took just before dialing in. Not in the shot: all the baby mess right behind me ;). Thank you Russell Siegelman and Julie Makinen for writing the case, Laura Hattendorf for the moderation in class and Meghan Wood for making the initial connection.
