"No one told me I couldn't not, not do it" - A PVT in basic training (literally) The military has a reputation for being one of the most advanced organizations in the world. Yet, even the most dangerous tools come with labels like, “Do not eat this explosive.” Why? Because Marines are feral animals? Because leaving things to assumption can have... unintended consequences. Like the Infantry eating explosives or Marines chewing on blasting caps. Just saying... The same applies to businesses and organizations. Even when you think everyone understands the mission, the processes, or the tools, there’s always room for miscommunication. This also drives home the importance of proper training and testing. That’s why clarity, communication, and redundancy are critical for success. Is your team crystal clear on the “why” behind their actions? Are the processes and expectations so well-defined that even a new hire could jump in without confusion? Have you ensured there’s no room for “I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to eat the explosives” moments? Being advanced doesn’t mean ignoring the basics. It means creating systems and communication strategies that eliminate ambiguity, foster accountability, and ensure everyone is aligned, no matter how obvious things might seem. In fact, the most advanced teams are the ones who have mastered and continue to practice the basics. Drive the Mission, Build the Future. What’s the funniest “obvious” instruction or oversight you’ve seen in your career? Let’s share a laugh and some lessons in the comments! #DriveTheMission #BuildTheFuture #Leadership #Communication #AttentionToDetail #OrganizationalGrowth #LessonsLearned #WorkplaceHumor #ClarityIsKey

Meanwhile at the MRE testing facility... In business, we often hear about the importance of blending ideas, strategies, and even teams. Just because two things can be combined doesn’t mean they should. Without alignment to a clear purpose, vision, and culture, you might end up with something that leaves everyone scratching their heads. Or the veggie omelet MRE. ?? The same goes for people in an organization. When hiring or building a team, it’s not just about qualifications or experience, it’s about fit. Does this person align with the organization’s values? Do they contribute to a culture that supports growth and collaboration? Or will the mismatch create confusion and slow progress? Successful organizations know that true innovation comes not from throwing random ingredients together but from intentionally combining the right ones. This applies to ideas, processes, and most importantly, people. So, before mixing things up, ask yourself or your team a few things. Does this combination align with the mission and values? Are we adding complementary strengths, or creating unnecessary friction? Is this going to move us forward? Building the future is about making intentional choices, not random experiments. Drive the Mission, Build the Future. What’s the most “fizza-like” business combination you’ve ever seen, and what lessons did it teach you? Share your stories below! He Is Too Dangerous To Wield This Much Power!! In business, much like on the battlefield, you don’t always have the perfect tools for the job. Military Grade isn't always your friend Sometimes you’ve got to channel your inner MacGyver and make do with what’s available. Turning everyday items into solutions that get the job done. Just like this Nokia Hammer. Indestructible, multifunctional, and downright overkill. While creativity and resourcefulness are critical, there’s a fine line between ingenuity and inefficiency. If your team is stuck piecing together outdated systems or patching tools with duct tape (figuratively or literally), it might be time to ask the hard questions. Are we staying “resourceful,” or are we resisting progress? Are we getting by, or are we preparing to grow? Are your systems outdated but still doing the job (barely)? Is your team making do with “makeshift” solutions instead of being equipped for real success? Sometimes, the cost of clinging to makeshift solutions far outweighs the investment in better tools, systems, or training. While a Nokia hammer might drive the nail, wouldn’t it be better to have a real hammer in the first place? Or Thor's Mjolnir... just saying! Don’t just survive! Equip your team to thrive. Drive the Mission, Build the Future. What’s the most creative (or hilariously makeshift) solution you’ve seen in your career? Share your stories below and let’s swap some laughs and lessons! Some things just have a way of sticking around... Like the Fast and Furious saga, or certain aspects of company culture. In the world of business, culture is like a legacy passed down, evolving but staying recognizable through the generations. Just like we joke about Fast and Furious racing into the future, your company culture will keep moving forward long after you’re gone. So, what kind of legacy are you building? Is your culture agile and innovative, ready to handle the next era of challenges? Does it foster loyalty and a strong sense of family, much like Dom’s crew? Or does it have some outdated values that could use a tune-up to stay relevant? Creating a lasting culture isn’t just about making it through the next quarter; it’s about making sure the essence of your organization thrives for years to come. So, build a culture that future generations will be proud to inherit. Drive the Mission, Build the Future. What’s one part of your company’s culture that you hope will endure until 2080 and beyond? I heard you infantry and business guys like to carry stuff! So we put a backpack in your backpack that's on your backpack! We’ve all been there: Overpacked and ready for any scenario, even if it means our “loadout” makes us the least agile person in the room. It’s a mentality born from the days when preparedness could be the difference between success and failure. Here’s the key takeaway for business, preparation is essential, but it’s a double-edged sword. While being ready for anything builds resilience, carrying too much, whether it’s overthinking, excessive planning, or extra baggage, can make you slow, ineffective, and less adaptable when the unexpected hits. The real skill is finding the balance. How do you prepare enough to be effective, but remain agile when it matters most? It’s about making strategic choices and knowing when to lighten your load so you can pivot quickly. Drive the Mission, Build the Future. What’s something you’ve learned about balancing preparation with agility in your career? Share your insights or experiences below! If it's stupid, but it works.... Sometimes, you have to do things that don’t seem to make sense. Like wearing a reflective belt over a perfectly camouflaged uniform in a combat zone. To the untrained eye, it’s baffling. Anyone who’s ever donned that safety belt knows there’s probably a valid reason, even if it feels far from logical at first glance. Or because you're doing clean sweep at Fort Liberty and PT belts make you indestructible. Just saying... In organizations, we face similar situations. We’re asked to follow protocols, adopt practices, or complete tasks that may seem out of step with our day-to-day mission. It’s easy to question them or feel the frustration when the purpose isn’t immediately clear. Every rule, policy, and action was put in place to serve a bigger picture. Whether it’s to keep people safe, ensure compliance, or align with long-term strategic goals, each piece of the puzzle is necessary. Sometimes, understanding how it fits comes down to communication and trust in the vision. Leaders must ensure the why behind these actions is communicated clearly and consistently. Team members should feel empowered to ask questions and gain clarity on how their efforts contribute to the overall mission. So next time you feel like you’re wearing a metaphorical reflective belt in a combat zone, take a moment to connect the dots. Understanding the purpose can transform compliance into meaningful action. Or it will shine to light antiquated policies that may not serve their original purpose anymore. Drive the Mission, Build the Future. What’s the most confusing task you’ve faced that ended up making sense later on? Drop your stories below!

"Trying is the first step to failure" - Homer Simpson Embrace the Suck! It’s a phrase that hits hard, born from long nights, harsh conditions, and the unwavering commitment to mission success. Or countless hours at the green ramp or in the pack shed (airborne all the way) In the military, we learned that some challenges are unavoidable. You can’t go around them. You have to go through them. (Staff Duty when a soldier gets arrested) In business, the same holds true. We encounter obstacles we’d rather avoid. A difficult quarter, a project that feels impossible, or a task that pushes us far outside our comfort zone. Yet, instead of resisting, we lean in. We accept the discomfort because it’s necessary for forward progression, growth, and achieving our vision. Building a thriving culture isn’t about making things easy. It’s about developing resilience, learning from every setback, and showing grit when it matters most. As leaders and teams, we must accept that the path forward will have its share of challenges—and embracing the struggle is what sets us apart. So next time things get tough, remember: It’s not just about getting through it. It’s about growing through it. Drive the Mission, Build the Future. What’s your most memorable “embrace the suck” moment in your career? Let’s talk about how you grew from it! Visit Frago22.com

"Daddy Navy, How are baby tanks made?" - A Young Marine (probably) We had just received the briefing: straightforward objectives, clear roles, and everything seemed set for a textbook operation. Seemed being the operative word. A few days into the FTX, we witnessed an event that turned the boring field problem into the stuff of legend. Well at least I found it funny... the wrecker crew on the other hand... not so much. Two armored behemoths, massive, sturdy, and seemingly unstoppable, found themselves in a predicament so ridiculous that even the greenest Private knew it would be retold for years to come. Those dang Tankers... always doing what they want. Let’s just say, when things go sideways in the world of heavy machinery, it’s not a minor mishap, it’s an epic saga. Even in business, we plan meticulously. We strategize, train, and prepare for every conceivable outcome. But sometimes, things still end up in... let's call it a unique formation. When the unexpected strikes, the real measure of a team lies not in how perfect the plan was, but how well they can adapt, work together, and learn from the experience. Our team values adaptability, resourcefulness, and a good sense of humor when faced with “less-than-optimal” (sleepy tanker) situations. In the end, culture isn’t built in moments of smooth operations but in how we rally together when the plan derails. What’s the wildest “that wasn’t in the training manual” moment you’ve experienced in your career? Let’s swap some stories in the comments! Skynet started their attack in a different way... Every day, like clockwork, I brace myself for the onslaught. The enemies? A squad of robocalls straight out of Arizona, coming in hot and relentless. They show up uninvited, using clever disguises (or at least, different numbers) as if we’re locked in a game of tactical warfare. They strike multiple times in a single day, often with a precision that would impress even the most seasoned military strategists. I’m sure you’ve heard the narrative, “Robocalls are overblown,” they say. “They aren’t as frequent as you think.” One look at my call log, and I’m convinced I’ve become a high-value target. Maybe it's because I once answered one of these calls, only to hear about a car warranty I don’t even have. Big mistake. Rookie move. I know better now. So here I am, rolling my eyes at today’s engagement report: (520) 492-2545, (520) 526-6986, (520) 453-0784. Each number is a new front in this digital battle. I’m tempted to create a playbook, complete with call sign logs and strategies for future responses. What’s your strategy when the robocall brigade comes knocking? Share your stories of battle and triumph in the comments. Together, we’ll figure out how to win this war. If you're reading this message, you are the resistance!
