With heavy hearts, the Federal Protective Service remembers the line-of-duty death of Federal Protective Service Officer Ronald Sheffield (Sept 21, 2001). Officer Sheffield was assigned to #FPSDHSCentral Region 5 in Detroit, Michigan. He was shot and killed while responding to a call for a man with a gun at the metal detectors in the McNamara Federal Building. Security at the building was increased dramatically in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. A United States Marine Corps veteran, Officer Sheffield is survived by his two daughters. We offer our strength and support to Officer Ronald Sheffield’s family, friends, and colleagues. Gone, but never forgotten. #FPSDHS #ThisIsFPSDHS
