"If you didn't document it, you didn't do it" That tagline was off of a ConnectWise #PSA poster way back in my #MSP days. We had em all over the office. #Documentation matters. It starts off with this concept of tracking metrics. And that's important. You do need to know time spent on accounts. But that ain't it. At some point I started writing down process & procedure. I was getting closer. Documented #process makes actions #repeatable and #transferrable. Helps with the hiring. That ain't it, either. Then I started seeing the team do it. Everything got documented. Tickets could be transferred. People would take time off, and it didn't matter. Systems were able to be supported. That.... was it. Documentation makes it possible for teams to function. And #sales teams are no different. If you don't document, down to the individual activity level, everything on deals.... You gonna lose em. They might just give that there was a dial. No context. Disposition your calls. Track your blocks. Get descriptive. Yes, I'm talking to you, #BDRs. Because you might not always be on this set of leads. It might lift and shift. You might get put onto other projects. Leadership might get ansty about leadflow. Without good notes --- nobody, including you, can pick up and run with your campaign.
