Last week, five members of the Fourier Fund had the incredible opportunity to participate in Stony Brook University's UBS and Wolfe Research onsite visit, to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of investment banking and equity research. This experience allowed us to engage with industry professionals, explore various career paths in finance, and develop a deeper understanding of market trends and financial analysis. At UBS, we engaged in thought-provoking discussions with Ridhima Shekher and Stony Brook alumnus Carlos Vazquez, who offered an inside look at the aspects of investment banking. They spoke about navigating the industry, adapting to evolving market trends, and the critical skills that set successful finance professionals apart. Later, at Wolfe Research, we explored the intersection of research, strategy, and market analysis with Emily Daempfle and Stony Brook alumnus Justin Ullman. Their perspectives on investment strategies and financial forecasting highlighted the essential role research plays in shaping high-stakes financial decisions. Last week, the Fourier Fund had the privilege of attending an onsite visit at MUFG to learn more about their 2026 Risk Analyst roles and Summer Analyst Program. It was an insightful experience engaging with professionals at the firm, gaining a deeper understanding of risk management, and exploring career opportunities in the field. We had the opportunity to tour the trading floor, converse with former analysts, and hear inspiration from MUFG's Chief Risk Officer, Brian Gunn, who shared valuable insights on leadership and the evolving landscape of risk management. Learning directly from professionals across different departments provided us with a unique perspective on risk management and the financial industry as a whole.
