Last week, Royal Bank of Canada, Capital Markets RBC, partnered with FourBlock to host the Veteran Symposium in New York City's financial district. This annual in-person program is offered to U.S. #veterans who are full-time undergraduate students or first-year full-time MBA #studentveterans. Participants met with senior leaders and trusted industry advisors to learn about career opportunities and discover paths to success for veterans in Capital Markets. Fourblock's Vic Lance introduced the Career Readiness Program to the student body, energizing the audience for the three panel discussions that followed. Karin Childress-Wiley led a panel of RBC Veteran Employees Christina Rasch, Daniel Dizon, Justin Michael S., and Stuart Bryson through a thoughtful discussion about transitioning into Wall Street roles. Additionally, Adam Savarese moderated an insightful Career Paths & Opportunities on Wall Street panel with Carlo Portes, Lesley Kelly, Steve Rosenthal, Tim O'Connor, and Valerie Shapiro, CFA, CPA. It’s a privilege to work alongside such passionate and committed professionals. Thank you, Vito Sperduto, Matt Vacca, Stuart Bryson, and John Thurlow for their exceptional leadership and dedication to this mission. On this solemn day, we honor the lives lost on September 11th, 2001, and the brave men and women who answered the call to serve in the aftermath.?Today, we remember their courage, resilience, and the enduring spirit of unity that emerged from that tragic day. Founded in New York, FourBlock was established to support post-9/11 veterans in discovering purpose and meaning beyond their military mission. We started with an inaugural class of 16 veterans in New York City and have grown into a nationwide network of professionals eager to continue to make a difference in our communities. Our alumni continue to “pay it forward” and come back to FourBlock to teach, mentor, and hire the next cohort of veterans in transition. At FourBlock, we remain committed to supporting post-9/11 veterans as they continue their journey of service, finding new purpose and meaning in their civilian careers long after their military missions have ended.
