Did you know? The Foundry's spaces are designed to be adaptable for multi-use. That means one room in the building could be used for endless types of gatherings, like a book club, a play rehearsal, a dance class, or a science fair! ?? Today, we kick off our first-ever annual giving campaign! This month, you’ll meet a handful of some of our wonderful community members- like Darren Hairston (Darren Hairston)! Darren is a longtime weekly program partner here at The Foundry and teaches an electrifying and energetic Zumba class on Monday evenings. ?? We want to be able to continue to do the work we love, so we’re asking for your help. This season, you can help strengthen your community by donating to our annual giving campaign. Your donation will help us continue our efforts to connect makers, organizations, families, and teaching artists, as well as increase access to resources and opportunities. Donations also allow us to continue to offer our sliding scale program to individuals and organizations in financial need. More than 50% of our community qualifies for our lowest sliding scale rate. Any-sized donation is appreciated. You can support access at cambridgefoundry.org/give. Don’t forget to check if your employer matches your donation! Look for “The Foundry Consortium” in your organization’s portal. Thank you! -- Captions "I recommend The Foundry to many people- first as friends, students. I repost their things on Instagram. It has so many things to offer to the community and all surrounding communities. From sewing, dancing, open events, everything under the sun, you can find at The Foundry."

  • Did you know? The Foundry is a safe, nurturing environment where people can explore new passions and skills. You may know Watsky from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton Mixtape or his 2020 Guinness World Record for the longest rap marathon (continuously freestyle rapping for 33 hours and 33 minutes) to raise money for COVID relief. Last year, the writer and performer hosted a limited-attendance thank-you celebration with fans at The Foundry. The private event featured a meet and greet and a pop-up gallery of Watsky’s original art. ?? Today is the last day to donate to our annual giving campaign! Help us continue to facilitate opportunities for creative expression and professional development at cambridgefoundry.org/give. Don’t forget to check if your employer matches your donation! Look for “The Foundry Consortium” in your organization’s portal. -- [CAPTIONS] "I think it's crucial for artists to have places where they can gather like this. My whole career started because I was part of a youth nonprofit, and I joined the board, and I was part of the final Friday open mic organization. I know for myself- my cohorted youths, we became artists largely because we had a space that nurtured us and let us be ourselves and gave us positive reinforcement for being creative, so I know it changed the course of my life; I know it changes the course of folks' lives especially when they're younger- you can really set people off on a path that they didn't think was possible."
