A culture of innovation. Innovation isn’t simply advancements in technologies, but rather a way of thinking and continual exploration into what’s possible and what’s not currently being done. I love Founders Live. Always a hub of inspiration and a reminder that their’s always more that I don’t know vs what I already understand. It’s not just a pitch competition, but rather a challenge for me to unbox my own thinking. As I take on an additional role, I’m challenged to do things differently, and even being the first in a whole new capacity. One that’s not so tech-focused. Having a community like FL definitely keeps my thinking differently while taking inspiration from others doing new and different. Wonderful to have Nick Hughes back from his European travels. I'm finally getting my feet back under me after a few days of travel, and I wanted to say thank you so much to everyone that put in the effort to make the Founders Live Seattle - Startup World Cup edition go so well. I had a great time, and had a ton of fun on stage. First, congratulations to BioLegacy and Shen Ren for taking home the literal big trophy. Congratulations go as well to Melissa Hutchins from Certifi AI, Patrick Stevan Phelps from WhyGrene Inc., and Jason Puracal from ZILA BioWorks for getting up on stage and sharing your visions with us! Lance Kissler came by and provided emotional support, a ride back to the lightrail so I could make my flight, and I was excited to introduce him around to so many lovely people, including Elizabeth Cross Nichol, Luis Antezana, and more. As I write this, I’m feeling incredibly grateful and humbled. Standing on the same stage where legends like David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Oasis, Victoria Wood, and John Cleese have once performed is surreal. Huge thanks to Cambridge Tech Week for giving Simone and I, the platform to share our passion for technology and male fertility! And to top it off—I’m beyond thrilled to have won not just one, but two awards at #CamTechWeek; the People’s Choice Award at the #InnovationAlley and the Founders Live Award. These awards represent the beginning of what’s going to be an exciting journey, where I get to turn my PhD research into real-world solutions for early detection and treatment of male infertility. Los 5 emprendedores que se lanzaron a esta aventura, Eduardo Ramos Ibá?ez, Lucía Llópiz Domínguez, Néstor Salceda, Antonio Gonzalez-Adalid de los Casares y Javier Juárez Zarruk, lo dieron todo y nos dejaron alucinados con sus proyectos. ?Y todo acompa?ado de la deliciosa cerveza de Club Runner Cerdos Voladores! ?? We won! 23 hrs before this, I got an email from Thomas. Someone dropped out from the pitching contest, and we were now in! I was hesitant - we have less than a day to prep, and 99 seconds to pitch. But we took a plunge. Now, I'm so glad we accepted the challenge. We got to show what we're building with The MetaPause team -- for the 1st time in this part of the world! ?? ...I think we got all the women in the audience to vote for us. Since the winner of the contest was determined by the public, I can only attribute this to our cause. We matter - healthcare doesn't have to be sexist. Women's longevity deserves attention. Women's health is a hot topic. Again, thanks for all the votes, folks of Lisbon - we'll be back on stage soon, with even more advancements. It was great to meet and hang out with all the other epic founders! Huge thanks to the Founders Live. We love you even though you had our logo stretched and deformed on the screen lol. Ooh we had a time last week!! Founders Live -Startup World Cup occurred on Thursday in front of a booming audience at the beautiful Seattle University. It’s been about 3 years since the Startup World Cup made it to Seattle and we definitely showed out! Massive thanks and job well done to all of the participating founders- Melissa Hutchins, Patrick Stevan Phelps, Andrea Parrish, and Jason Puracal. In the end, Shen Ren with BioLegacy took home the trophy and the honor of representing Seattle at the Startup World Cup Grand Finals in October in San Francisco!!! This was such a great event, and as always couldn’t have been done without the support and effort from an amazing team!
