“AI in production is more than just APIs.” Last week, I spent almost 2 days with CIOs, CTOs, GenAI Leaders and VPs from global enterprises, GICs and GCCs in Mumbai and Hyderabad. Thanks to nasscom for inviting me to NTC 2024 and getting us to showcase how Pipeshift (YC S24) has been helping enterprises build with open source AI models. I spoke about why 80% enterprises are switching to (or using) open source AI models. Today open source AI is as good as closed source, however, building with open-source models in production needs more than just APIs, RAG and prompt engineering. On Tuesday this week I attended the AI Kaleidoscope event that Mala Ramakrishnan and the rest of the Founders Creative team (including Raymond Lee) put on.
