Since February is Heart Month, we thought it was fitting to spotlight a special 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded by Joe DiVincenzo, Founder and President of Eagle Rock Management Group, A Foundation Risk Partners Company in Camden, New Jersey, who is a top Sales Producer and the 2023 recipient of FRP’s Producer Impact Award in Employee Benefits. Beating Hearts Inc. was created by Joe and his wife Paula in honor of their son, Joey Anthony DiVincenzo, who was born October 2023 with a congenital heart defect, known as Coarctation of the Aorta (CoA) and a large Ventricular septal defect (VSD; hole in the heart). Just ten days after his birth, Joey underwent high-risk open-heart surgery. With incredible medical care, and countless sleepless nights, Joey made a miraculous full recovery three months later. Joe shared that coarctation is often not discovered until weeks after a child is born, when the condition begins to worsen, putting the parents in an overwhelming situation. “Our family is fortunate to have excellent insurance,” said Joe. “But for families who don’t have insurance or the means to pay for this surgery, Paula and I formed Beating Hearts to help.” Beating Hearts Inc. provides critical financial assistance to families affected by children with CoA and contributes funds to hospitals once a quarter, earmarked for coarctation and qualifying families. "The first contribution by Beating Hearts Inc., will be $10,000 to Children’s Masonic Hospital in Minnesota at the end of February for a family in need.” What a remarkable and compassionate endeavor!
