The Foundation of HOPE is an interfaith non-profit with the mission of “Empowering people impacted by the criminal justice system to renew their faith, rebuild their lives, and restore positive relationships.” Our innovative approach offers inmates and ex-offenders the opportunity for a new life by offering three distinct elements of a continuum of care: Chaplaincy, Pre-Release, and Aftercare. The goals of the program are accomplished through counseling, religious services, discipleship, practical resources and referrals, life skills education within and outside the jail, choice awareness training, and one-on-one mentoring. HOPE serves inmates regardless of their race, age, ethnic background, or faith tradition.

Join us in congratulating Lisbeth Vanessa Masache on her well-deserved graduation from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) #Classof2024! Lisbeth has been an integral part of CAASI - Center for Analytical Approaches to Social Innovation, dedicating over a year to a significant study assessing the utilization of aftercare services provided by the Foundation of HOPE. This vital research, generously supported by the The Bernard and Audre Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice spans five years and aims to enhance support for ex-inmates. In her role, Lisbeth demonstrated remarkable dedication and resilience by engaging with over 600 ex-inmates to participate in a survey. Managing a comprehensive database of call logs and tracking participant engagement required meticulous attention to detail and perseverance. Her efforts have been crucial in advancing our understanding of the effectiveness of social services. As Lisbeth moves forward, we extend our deepest gratitude for her indefatigable work and the significant impact she has made. Her commitment to social innovation and community service is truly commendable.
