Gadgets for Good and eSmart Recycling will be in the Foundation parking lot on Saturday, January 11 from 10 am – 1 pm, collecting electronics such as computers, keyboards, and printers (NO televisions). Our latest Speakers Who Inspire event featured Linda Villarosa, an award winning writer and author of Under the Skin: The Hidden Toll of Racism on American Lives and on the Health of Our Nation. Congrats to Foundation Chief Strategy Officer Lisa Brody for being honored by the Zeta Gamma Zeta chapter of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority with their Community Hero Award last weekend. Lisa is an absolute rock (and rock star) for our team, and we're so excited to celebrate this well-deserved honor with her. Congrats, as well, to all of the other Zeta Phi Beta honorees!

Team member Harold Bryant Jr. celebrated the holidays this week with Thrive by Five Tampa Bay and Community Foundation Tampa Bay. Three of our team members serve on workgroups at Thrive by Five; we value the opportunity get out and engage with the ecosystem of partners working to make our community a healthier and more equitable place to call home. 

Congrats to Foundation President and CEO Dr. Kanika Tomalin who was named a 2025 Woman of Distinction by Girl Scouts of West Central Florida! https://lnkd.in/ej2gtHtz Congrats, as well, to the other five fabulous women being honored in March and thank you to the Girl Scouts for all you do to make our community stronger and our future brighter.

Yesterday, two of our much-appreciated Foundation trustees participated in their final (for now) board meeting at the Foundation, as their terms expire at the end of this year. Michael Funsch, CFA (left photo, center) and Lorna Taylor (right photo, second from left in black) both served on our board for four years; we're so grateful for and appreciative of their service. Our Board of Trustees is made up of dedicated, purpose-driven volunteers who share their time and talents with us so that, together, we can build a healthier and more equitable community. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all of our trustees, past and present. We couldn't do this work without you.
