Last month, several of our team members had the opportunity to attend the Florida Philanthropic Network statewide summit in Orlando, which the Foundation was proud to sponsor. At the gathering, we presented about our innovative and inclusive approach to engagement, connected with other funders working in similar spaces throughout our state, and helped shape broader conversations about a systems change approach to philanthropy. We're so appreciative of these opportunities to engage with our philanthropic ecosystem so that, together, we can build a healthier and more equitable future.

On Saturday night, Foundation President and CEO Dr. Kanika Tomalin joined other local leaders for an International Women's Day panel discussion at Tombolo Books focused on women doing important work in challenging spaces. Panelists shared insight on staying resilient in moments of challenge, finding hope, and turning frustration into action. We love these opportunities to connect with and find inspiration in our ecosystem. Thanks to the event organizers and all who participated.

This week, we've had the pleasure of hosting the Philanthropy Southeast Janine Lee Learning & Leadership Collaborative, which empowers leaders to advance structural, relational, and transformational change to advance equity and justice in their organizations and communities. Being part of broader philanthropic conversations is a crucial way we engage as a Foundation. We're grateful for the opportunity to connect with these dynamic change agents so we can strengthen our communities, together.

Congrats to Foundation Impact Manager Joshua Bean and the rest of this fabulous new Certificate in Leadership cohort.
It's a tale as old as time: An incredible individual contributor gets recognized for their outstanding performance by being promoted to manage others, but they never receive the necessary training to lead and manage a team. Not so for #TampaBayNonprofits! We're thrilled to announce the 18 rising nonprofit stars selected for our spring 2025 Certificate in Leadership. New to managing people or programs, they'll receive the preparation necessary over the next 10 weeks to lead authentically and effectively in our dynamically changing sector. In addition to grant funding of up to $10,000 each, these groups will also take part in a Core Capacity Assessment administered by the Nonprofit Leadership Center that's designed to gauge which capacity-building interventions will best serve their organization. Yesterday, we published and shared the results from our most recent research report, the South St. Pete Health Equity Profile, which offers a hyper-local look at health outcomes and well-being in the three zip codes of the South St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Area. The report highlights sharp geographic health disparities that must be addressed in areas like early death from chronic disease, injury and violence, and maternal/fetal health. However, through focus groups and interviews, it also highlights neighborhood strengths and assets like a strong sense of community, dedicated local organizations, and more. Thank you to all who came by yesterday to explore the report's findings at our Health Equity Profile Data Walk. You can now access the report online at https://lnkd.in/dqyGwX_Y? Dawn M.
