This event is a bit different from our usual focus, and I’m excited to be hosting it as a longstanding fan of the Center for Humane Technology, which explores the impact of emerging technologies on people. Their work profoundly shaped how I engage with technology and parent my son. Unsurprisingly, they’ve been ahead of the curve on AI, raising awareness about the potential harms of the current breakneck revolution. ?? What does this have to do with family offices? With their unique agility and capacity to allocate significant capital and resources, family offices hold a pivotal role in shaping the AI explosion. They have the power to drive responsible and impactful innovation, influencing the future of AI not only as investors but also as stewards of a better tomorrow. We’re excited to contribute our technology and innovation to the industry, and we had a great time learning about and sharing industry insights and expertise. Some highlights of the event include: ?? A conversation led by Tania Neild on how family offices should approach AI, including using it as a tool to automate mundane tasks. One of the panelists highlighted their mantra that “80% is good enough” for repetitive tasks, i.e., that you have to work with the provider to get to that 80% threshold. ?? Discussions around the architecture of an FO tech stack and how to choose the right one for your office. Sophia L., one of SumIt’s valued clients, and Michael G Perez shared what they prioritize when choosing software, including security certifications, integration options, culture fit, cost, and training and support. ?? SumIt’s trusted advisor, Danielle Klimek, spoke about optimizing performance reporting without compromising accounting. This was great feedback to hear since at SumIt, we've partnered with clients to optimize our integration with our partner, Addepar.
