Ensuring that foster care teens and young adults are educated, housed, financially stable, employed, and connected.
关于我们
Foster Success is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides financial, educational and social support to assist foster care youth at a most critical time - when they are about to or have already transitioned out of the foster care system, most often with no family or economic support. Every year in Indiana, about 500 youth age out of the foster care system and into our communities. Statistically they fare dramatically worse than 18-year-olds with parental support. But research has shown that if we can help develop a solid foundation with some very basic and fundamental skills, as well as a sound support network, we can foster success for these youth and in the process save our economy millions of dollars annually. As a non-for-profit, Foster Success, relies on the support and generosity of organizations and individuals who understand and believe in the value of continuing to foster success for youth exiting the foster care system.

Last week, I joined a group at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis for their convening, Banking on Financial Inclusion: The Road to Economic Empowerment. I had the opportunity to share some of the barriers that older foster youth face when it comes to financial inclusion and how Foster Success works to break down those barriers. Some of those barriers include: - lack of a trusted adult co-signer when wanting to open a bank account as a minor - a thin credit file preventing them from accessing credit - limited understanding and knowledge of financial principles Through Foster Success's partnerships with financial institutions and programs including Opportunity Passport (TM) and Credit Build we support young people on their journey's to self-sufficiency. Thanks for the conversation Mike Eggleston and Miguel Lopez.

We’re making huge strides in our FriendsGiving campaign, but we need you to help us get the rest of the way there! https://shorturl.at/6qQo0 ???? Did you know that 80% of foster youth lack access to the internet and a computer? This lack of access means many young people fall behind in school, struggle to attend college, and face higher rates of unemployment and poverty. Your donations ensure young people have access to the resources they need to become self-sufficient and thrive. #FSFriendsGiving
