During National Adoptee/Adoption Awareness Month, we're talking about how adoption is portrayed in the media and popular culture. For example, you may have seen recent headlines about changes to international adoption. We know these kinds of stories can bring up myriad feelings for members of the adoption constellation, especially for adoptees - sadness, relief, anger, confusion, grief, to name a few - and often do not fully capture the nuance and loss inherent in adoption. If you or someone you know needs more support around these feelings and the different ways the impact of adoption can show up across the lifespan, reach out to our HELP Program. Our HELP Specialists can assist in finding adoption-competent therapists, support groups, and other ways to connect with someone who really gets it and can provide a safe space to process. The HELP Program can be reached at 612-746-5137 or [email protected] Read more at https://lnkd.in/gHXUiXhW
