By June 2017, he was telling those three children that he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting a Trauma-Informed Care Problem-Solving Session to support foster and adoptive families affected by trauma. It was amazing to see so many dedicated advocates - trauma counselors, children’s services professionals, nonprofits, system workers, and church leaders - come together with shared goal. Their passion for helping children and parents in need of training, resources, and support was truly inspiring. It was clear how much this work matters to everyone with the amount of joy and celebration in the room.
