Sadly I won't be able to make #PostgreSQL Conference EU in Athens Greece Oct 22-24, but if you are, or are nearby Athens and are a PostgreSQL extensions developer or interested in the PostgreSQL extensions ecosystem, you should attend "The Extensions Ecosystem Summit" https://lnkd.in/eqnEkxZ2 OCT 22, 2024 which is on the 1st day of the conference and free to attend.

So thankful for the time I got with Drew McAllister and all the students who came to the FOSS4G North America conference. It was so inspiring hearing about their interests and connecting with them on how #GIS can be used for social impact in their communities. I am so thankful for this opportunity to visit with all of the amazing people from St. Louis and very thankful to Drew McAllister, Brian Monheiser, Anthony Calamito and GEO261 for allowing me to do what I am most passionate about - meeting and inspiring students in #technology and #GIS.
Do you remember your first professional conference? This week, associates from Spark! Tech Solutions attended FOSS4G North America, a conference focused on leveraging open source software within the #geospatial realm. Our sincere thanks to?... - Adam Simmons for the encouragement to come,? - Guido Stein for opening space for us and setting up an amazing introduction to what it means to be a part of a technical community, - Brian Monheiser, Anthony Calamito and Frank Romo for inspiring us with the “why” that drives impactful #GIS work, and - The amazing #FOSS4GNA partners and volunteers. Individuals from organizations like T-Kartor USA, Crunchy Data, the US PostgreSQL Association, Coiled, Cyclomedia, Cesium and more welcomed us and shared their career stories and advice. Some major takeaways for our team: - I learned how GIS could be used to help the community and to make a positive impact on the world in general. - I learned that conferences are spaces for people who work on different projects in the same community to get together and share ideas and information. - One thing I learned about conferences is that it’s important to approach the vendor or person you’re talking to by trying to actually get to know them. - The most interesting takeaway I had was how drones can completely change the agriculture industry with the help of geospatial technology. - The best thing you can do is get involved. You never know what the small things you do could lead to. Thank you again! Parkway Schools CAPS Network #choosespark
