Located in downtown Rochester, NY, this 1914 historic building once housed the Neisner Brothers’ popular five-and-dime store, the Arnold and Stern architectural firm, the offices of a former Rochester mayor, James Cutler, and Rochester Gas & Electric Corporation. The Neisner building will be rehabilitated to feature 54 apartments, a resident lounge, a coffee bar, a fitness center, co-workspaces and a dog spa. This project aims to provide needed housing for students attending the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Clinical Rotation at Rochester Regional Health. Foss & Company is proud to provide the Federal Historic Tax Equity and NY State Historic Tax Equity for this project. The 2024 elections have led to a Republican sweep, which may bring significant changes to the renewable energy tax credit landscape. For tax equity investors and buyers of transferable credits, it's crucial to act quickly, prioritizing 2024 projects to secure full credit benefits before potential phase-downs. In our recent blog from Bryen Alperin, “Post-Election Update: Navigating Renewable Energy Tax Credits in 2024 and Beyond,” he discusses key predictions, strategic recommendations and what the outlook for renewable energy tax credits looks like. The Inflation Reduction Act (#IRA) has shaped the way clean energy technologies have evolved over the last few years. It has significantly enhanced the financial viability of projects across solar, wind, energy storage, carbon capture, and more, primarily through the expansion of Investment Tax Credits (ITC) and Production Tax Credits (PTC). Our recent whitepaper with Wood Mackenzie, “Beyond Solar: Uncovering Post-IRA Tax Equity Opportunities in Clean Energy Technologies,” discusses how the #IRA has expanded the range of eligible technologies and provided long-term investment certainty. Read our full whitepaper to dive into the transfer of tax credits, innovative tax equity structures and the growing menu of tax credit generating projects: https://bit.ly/4hZ7Ztc #tax #taxcredits #taxequity #sustainability #renewables #InflationReductionAct

The Methane Reduction and Economic Growth Act is a new bipartisan bill that seeks to expand the existing #45Q carbon sequestration credit to include a provision for capturing methane from mining activities. The bill proposes that methane captured from mining activities, which would otherwise be released into the atmosphere, qualify for the credit. This new bill could present significant opportunities for investors and developers in the clean energy, mining and carbon capture sectors. This will be a new financial incentive for methane capture projects and can help unlock new markets for carbon capture technologies. Foss & Company has over 40 years of experience in monetizing tax credits and the 45Q tax credit is a key piece to the financial model of #CCUS projects.
